Back To School OOTD | Polyvore

Back to school

Back to school by beautyshine featuring army boots

It's that dreaded time of year again when everyone is getting ready to head back to school, college or university. I have just under two weeks until I go back to my college to begin a new course; Beauty Therapy. If you're in higher education or you are based in America then you most likely wont have to wear a uniform so I thought I'd throw together a quick back to school OOTD idea, this is something I'd wear throughout Autumn/Winter to college.

First of all I've gone with a basic slouchy tee and a comfy cardigan pieced with a cute long necklace to brighten up the look. I think that when you're learning, the most important thing is to feel comfortable so you can focus on what you're doing and not worry about what you're wearing. The cardigan will keep you warm on the cooler days and you can always go that little bit further with your make up if you like.

I've obviously chosen jeans because it's me and I always choose jeans. I think that at the end of the year deep blue is a good colour to go for and the skinny leg tucked into some uber gorgeous boots such as these looks so good! Seriously though, don't you think those boots are just the nicest ever?

Finally I added the glasses because they're cute and quirky and intellectual and remind me of the cute, geeky girl from all the films.

What look will you be opting for this September season?

Summer Essentials Part 3 | Face

If you didn't already notice, I took the bank holiday weekend off from blogging to focus on family things and preparing for the new academic year. I'm back today though (awake at 7am and being super productive may I add) and I bring you the final part of my Summer Essentials series which includes everything for your face, from skincare to make up...

In the summer you expect there to be an abundance of sunshine and heat - unlikely in the UK but we were pretty lucky this year. To protect your face from the harmful rays you need to use a a moisturiser that contains SPF, such as the Origins A Perfect World. This oil-free, age defence moisturiser contains silver tip white tea, vitamin C and has an SPF 25.

Everybody always forgets about the lips, but similar to your face you should be using a protective lip balm because burnt lips are just unthinkable. The Nivea Sun Protect (SPF 30) lip balm is my favourite and I'd recommend it.

Next a primer. A primer is handy all year round but especially in the summer when a combination of heat and sweat will cause your make up to slip right off, the Smashbox Photo Finish Primer is perfect. There are a range of these primers - from original, through hydrating right to colour correcting so just find the one that is best for you.

Of course in the warmer months you just don't want to be sporting a full face of make up, your skin is probably looking at its best anyway so I would suggest opting for a BB cream rather than foundation. There are so many out there at the moment that this will give you an excuse to do some market research!

Finally a good face spritz is, to me at least, vital. This year I'm recommending the Vitamin E face mist from The Body Shop. I just love their vitamin E range. This spray refreshed, moisturises and protects - 3 in 1.

What are your face essentials for the summer? What will you be switching up as we head towards Autumn?

Benefit Gimme Brow

Benefit Gimme Brow (£17.50) has been around for a good couple of months now and I've been wanting to give it a go for about the same length of time. I eventually bit the bullet about three weeks ago and have been undecided ever since.

The idea behind this all new brush on fibre gel is that it adheres to skin and hair 'creating brows where before there were none'. The product is easily buildable but I prefer to keep it light. The small tapered brush is ideal for precision shaping and blending. Benefit claims Gimme Brow to be water resistant, long wearing and natural looking. I'd agree with all three of these claims. Upon application the pigment is going nowhere all day long.

So it all sounds good, why am I undecided? When the Benebabe applied Gimme  Brow on me in store I was really impressed but when I do it myself, I can never get the same look twice. One day I'm happy with the colour and I think it looks natural and the next I feel like it's just too in your face. It's probably just me but I wish I knew the secret to getting good looking brows from home. Sighh.

For the price you pay I think the size of the tube could be a little bit bigger but again, that's probably just me being stingy with my money as Benefit Gimme Brow seems to live up to all the claims. From ease of use to finished look I'd give this product an eight out of ten and recommend it to anyone.

See: before and after. What do you think?
(yes, I know my brows need plucking desperately!)

W7 Sunshine Liquid Highlighter Creams

We all love bright, glowing skin for the summer so what better time to feature these little pots of magic on the blog. These were my first ever experience with highlighters and they are pretty fantastic. I do love a bit of W7 and I'm glad that they are really starting to make a name for themselves with the beauty bloggers.

I have two of the sunshine liquid highlighter creams; Sunshine Glow (Pink) and Moon Light Glow (Beige). For the two together I paid around £6. Both come in nail polish like 12g glass bottles with a brush applicator inside the lid.  The formula itself is quite thick and creamy, as the name would suggest. A little bit goes a long way and blends smoothly into the skin to create a subtle, dewy glow that looks stunning when it catches the light. Too much though can create a bit of a OTT disco ball effect - not a good look!

Sunshine Glow is a gorgeous rosy, peach toned pink while Moon Light Glow is a beige-y yellow. Both contain hints of glitter which can look a bit much so as I mentioned earlier, you only need the tiniest amount and I wouldn't recommend to those with large pores.

I like to dab a little bit onto my cheek bone with the applicator and blend with an angled fluffy brush for the best possible effect. These products can also be used on the brow bone or inner corner of the eye to really brighten up an eye look.

Overall I do enjoy using these highlighters, I love the brush applicator avoiding having to use your finger and the two colours are beautiful. I think they are best for special occasions though so I'll be sticking to my Sleek contour kit for day to day use and opt for this when I need a pop of something if I'm having a dull skin day. If super highlighting is what you like, then this is for you!

Do you have a favourite highlight product?

The Procrastinating Beauty Blogger Tag

Another tag today, this one has been on my 'posts to write' list for a couple of months now (because I am SUCH a procrastinator) so here it is...

Name a beauty regime that you rarely do?
I rarely use a make up remover to take of my make up before cleansing and I also rarely cleanse twice a day. Naughty me. I'd also like to make face masks more of a regularity in my routine.

Is washing your make up brushes something that you do regularly?
Mmm no not as regular as it should be. As I said in this post, I only really wash them when they get noticeably dirty.

How long will you last with chipped nail polish?
A really long time, it's almost embarrassing! I will go a week or more and just keep chipping it until its all gone.

How long will you put off buying/replacing a beauty product even if you need it?
If I need it I will usually wait until I need a few things and make an online order from Boots or Superdrug pretty quickly.

What is your worst beauty habit?
Make up wipes. I know they're bad for your skin and I don't even like using them but more and more recently I'll just wipe my make up away quickly with a wipe and go to bed. No wonder my chin is breaking out!

Name something non-beauty related that you put off doing all the time?
The washing. I know that it has to be done and I always get annoyed at my lack of clean clothes but using the washing machine and hanging my stuff on the line just bores me so much that I just let it built up and build up forever.

When going out somewhere do you leave getting ready to the last minute?
Depending on how my day has gone, getting ready goes one of two ways; either I'm really prepared and spend a good amount of time washing my hair, doing my make up etc and am ready early or it's fifteen minutes until I have to leave and I'm not even changed yet. Uh oh.

Can you commit to spending bans?
Me this time last year? Definitely not. Me now? Yes, absolutely. Over the past few months I have become a lot more strict with my money, I'm an unemployed student from a low income family so sometimes, believe it or not, make up isn't my number one priority. Shock horror! This really is a big deal for me as I've gone from spending everything on new make up to rarely buying new products unless it's a necessity. I'm quite proud of my new found self control.

How organised are your make up and nail collections?
Very. I'm a virgo and an organisation freak so my make up and nail polishes are all organised in bags and boxes in a set of drawers. I'm still working on the colour coordinated thing though... haha.

There we go. I hope you enjoyed my answers, feel free to try this tag for yourself!

One of my favourite type of blog posts to read are those which show me snippets of how a person has styled their bedroom - or any room in a home really. I love decor and seeing different people's style, so I thought I'd share with you some of my own roomspiration.

My room isn't perfect, it isn't designed to a certain style nor is there a plan behind it. There aren't white walls and white furniture, no pretty displays or fancy lights but I like to add little touches to make it feel cosy and like my own space. I hope you enjoy!

How do like to decorate your space?

Scent Review ~ Jean Paul Gaultier Ma Dame

I got this perfume sample as a freebie with a Boots order a few months ago and I've almost used it up, therefore it seems only right to feature it on the blog, especially since I love it so much!

Full size (50ml) from Boots this perfume costs £45.96 but is currently down to £29.50 which I think is a much more reasonable price, right? I wouldn't know as due to allergies I'm not an avid fragrance buyer.

Aren't sample sizes just so cute?

"A fresh sweet, floral fragrance. A twist of orange and fresh rose illuminated with a flash of grenadine. A fragrance for rebellious and unconventional modern young ladies."

Rebellious and unconventional are not words I would have chosen to describe this scent but when all things considered, I guess they are rather accurate. The fragrance isn't something I've seen (smelt?) often and that's part of the reason that I like it. Ma Dame is a classy, feel good fragrance 100% for us modern young ladies. It is fresh but it's not floral, I'd say more spicy and for some unbeknown reason it reminds me of melons. There are also hints of baby powder in there but nothing major so not to worry.

Containing notes of cedar and musk together with the main ingredients I would say this eau de toilette is perfect for everyday or that special occasion. The fragrance lingers for hours. My favourite part though is that unlike most sprays, this one doesn't give me sneezing fits that last all day. Big bonus!

What do you think of JPG scents? Have you tried Ma Dame?

Smoothie Sundays | Fruit Spice

This smoothie is a little different. It contains a variety of ingredients which I maybe wouldn't have considered at all before doing some smoothie research. Yep, that's how I spend my spare time - googling all the most interesting things in life. Moving on, the consistency is a dream but the smell of this one is strong, if you aren't a fan of nutmeg I would avoid it. Although I think I may have overdone it personally, so perhaps just don't add as much as I did. Either way it's a fairly healthy breakfast time smoothie.

You will need:

  • Two frozen bananas, chopped and peeled
  • Half a table spoon of ground nutmeg
  • One and a half table spoons of honey
  • One peeled/segmented orange
  • An entire raspberry yoghurt (8oz)
That's everything. Throw it all together and blend to perfection.

What are your thoughts on this one?

Smoothie Sundays | Green Smoothie

I'm not a fan of greens; cabbage, kale, spinach... I just can't stand the dry tasteless sensation you get when you eat it. This smoothie, however, is so sweet and delicious. It's a perfect, healthy way to boost your energy.

For this smoothie you will need:

  • Two tablespoons of lime juice
  • A cup of green grapes
  • A cup of frozen mango
  • Two cups of chopped greens
Throw it all in your blender and serve up!

Favourite Summer Nail Polishes

Ooh look at me getting creative with my photography. It's nothing too special but I'm quite proud of this one. Anyway, this summer I've really been enjoying wearing nail polish, brights in particular if you didn't already notice.

Barry M is one of my favourite brands because they have such a large selection of colours and textures. I went through a phase of buying bottle after bottle from the Gelly range but as with every product I buy in bulk, only a few get used often. A couple of my absolute favourites are the gorgeous pastel blue shade called 'Blueberry', the sort of muted mint green named 'Greenberry' (is there a berry shaped theme here?), and 'Grapefruit' which is the brightest most beautiful pink you ever did see.

A rather long term favourite of mine is 'Craving Coral' (902) from Revlon. I believe it has recently been renamed simply to 'Coral' but I've had this bottle for a very long time, it's almost out but it's done me well. It's a bright, gorgeous pink toned red. You only need one coat but I do two just because I like to always do two coats, and the brush is fantastic. I need to purchase more Revlon nail enamels.

Last but not least, sometimes you just can't beat a simple French manicure. I like to use the white strengthening nail colour from Wet'n'Wild and my Boots nail polish in French Pink - this one actually came in a set purely for this purpose. Nothing says 'look how classy I am' like a flawless mani. I do have strips for getting the white tip perfectly straight but I managed this one by myself, what'd'ya think?

Finally, in the summer there is nothing worse than waiting around for your nails to dry so I've been using the Quick Dry spray from H&M - for more information on this little wonder, you will have to keep your eyes out this month. Oh how I love to tease you!

What's your favourite nail polish shade for the summer? Brights or Pastels?

Summer Essentials Part 2 | Fashion

In the summer you want to look and feel good and to achieve this I think you will need:

A great pair of sunglasses that protect your eyes, frame your face and make you look fantastic. Shopping for the perfect sunnies is more important than you might think.

That one pair of sandals that you wear and wear with every outfit is of course a big priority.  You want to be comfortable walking in them, feel confident and look good lying on the beach. Duh!

It really does go without saying that flower crowns are all the rage so of course, a floral accessory is top on my list. You may not want to jump aboard the tumblr ship but a cute hair accessory can make or break your look.

A good quality tote bag to throw all your bits in and take with you everywhere is a must. You really don't want to be lugging around a massive handbag with all but the kitchen sink in throughout the summer so make sure you just bring the essentials - see what I did there? Bad joke. Ok.

Finally, if you are planning a holiday or heading down the beach then you're going to want a swim suit with a feel good factor. Whether you opt for an all in one, bikini, tankini or shorts and a crop top, make sure to find something that you love, because that's all that matters.

I know we're almost at the end of summer now, but if you've still got a holiday ahead of you or you're blessed with the sunshine, I hope this post helps you!

Do you have a special piece that surfaces from the back of the wardrobe just for the summer months?

Friday Favourites (15/08/14)

I've not been home much recently so it's been pretty easy to pin point my favourites, some have even been saviours!

Collection Clear Mascara - Talking about saviours this has been one of them, I just haven't had time to do a full face of make up this week or even fill in my brows so this has been handy to run through my brows and also my lashes just to keep them in place all day and for the latter, make them stand out just a little more.

Neutrogenar Pink Grapefruit Facial Wash - Not wearing make up has caused the extra need to feel good about my skin and using this definitely helps with that. I don't want to say too much as a full review will be coming next week but I'm really enjoying this face wash.

Tanya Burr Nail Polish in Bright & Early - I've had this on my nails every single day, it's opaque in one coat, hasn't chipped so far and is a beautiful colour. Good things all round.

New Look Hair Grip - I've not been doing all that much with my hair recently so throwing it up in this is a lovely, quick look. I love the floral print and the little gems add a hint of sparkle.

TRESemm√© Heat Defence Spray - Although I've not been doing much with my hair I did cut my fringe the other day so it's too short to throw up and too curly to leave untouched, therefore I've been straightening it and this spray from TRESemm√© is fantastic. It smells pretty good too, all about the scents me.

Yankee Candle in Sicilian Lemon - It feels like forever since I've lit a candle which is odd because as I say, I love scents and lighting a candle of a night time really relaxes me. This one smells so fresh and is really brightening up my bedroom.

~ Blog of the week ~
Confessional Professional Drama Queen because of her after graduation struggles and her power to always make me laugh with her posts!

Friday Favourites (08/08/14)

Since I didn't get chance to post this last week, you get a double dose of favourites today! Here's what I was loving all last week...

Bottle Green Pomegranate & Elderflower - I mentioned this in my Boots Haul post. I really like this drink, it was delicious.

Soap & Glory The Righteous Butter - This was a gift from my mum's friends for all my personal achievements last month and I've been using it after I shave my legs or after a shower and oh my god it literally makes me feel so silky soft.

Collection Bronze Glow Mozaic in Radiant - Another one from my Boots haul, I've been using this product every day and I absolutely love it!

Benefit Gimme Brow - You all know the story with me and my brows but I've been really enjoying the Benefit Gimme Brow - a full review to come soon.

2True Nail Strengthen and Hardener - This little pick up has been working wonders for me recently, my nails are in great condition.

Smashbox Photo Finish Face Primer - This is my holy grail product if ever I had to choose one. This primer is the best thing since sliced bread. Really.

~ Blog of the week ~
Blonde of Carbs because I've been enjoying her posts and Jessica has been leaving me lots of lovely comments here too!

Rimmel Apocalips ~ The Forgotten Treasure

When the Rimmel first released the Apocalips in shops the hype was real. Every beauty blogger was reviewing them, every vlogger using them in tutorials - anybody worth their salt knew about them. Now though, I don't hear anything about them, which is a shame because the Rimmel Apocalips Lip Lacquers are pretty great products.

"Packed with pure colour pigments, its lusciously creamy, conditioning formula promises a never-before combination of colour, shine and comfort that lasts and lasts. Shades that take you from subtly sexy to spectacular."

Reasonably priced at £6.49 (here) and available in thirteen different colours the lacquers are highly pigmented and extremely long lasting - even after a few drinks and a meal they still hold. My only real problem with these is that they dry my lips out quite a bit which is never nice.

Another thing I enjoy about the Apocalips is the application wand. It's a lovely shape - soft doe foot - with a slight dip that holds the product so you get a lot with just one coat.

So if you haven't tried one of these, go and pick one up now and if you've already got one (or three) go and shop your stash. You won't regret it.

What do you think of Rimmel Apocalips Lip Lacquers?

The Beauty Blogger Tag

I wasn't tagged to do this post, I just wanted to give it a go! So let's do it...

Is your hair naturally curly or straight?
It's a natural curly mess.

What is your natural hair colour?

Do you dye it yourself or go to a salon?
I have never dyed my hair because I'm scared of never getting my natural colour back (I like it and it suits me). If I ever did dye it though, I'd go to a salon to be on the safe side.

How often do you wash your hair?
Every other day - or three days if I forget or am busy, for times like that there is dry shampoo!

Do you wear the same style every day or change it?
I mostly just throw my hair in a bun every day but recently I've been more inclined to change it up a bit depending on my plans for the day.

Do you do your own mani/pedi or go to the salon?
I do my own every time because it's so much cheaper and I think I'd feel awkward having somebody else do it for me. I did let my cousin give me acrylics one time though!

How often do you change your nail polish?
If I'm actually wearing a colour then I'll wait until it chips to change it, so a week or so, unless I have a new product that I'm desperate to try and then I'll change it straight away.

Do you polish your toes in the winter or just the summer?
I don't often paint my toe nails but all of the last Autumn and Winter up until quite recently actually I had Essie After School Boy Blazer on my toes.

How long does it take to put on your make up?
Depending on what look I'm doing it can be between 10 minutes or an hour. Wow the latter is bad isn't it?!

What do you do first - face or eyes?
I do my face first.

Do you 'collect' make up or just buy what you need when you need it?
I am most definitely a collector!

How often do you wear false eyelashes?
I have never ever worn falsies.

Do you do a full face of make up every day?
I don't.

Do you wear make up when you are home alone/with family?
Yes. Well not all the time but if I'm a bit nervous about wearing a new product, a bright lipstick or eye colour for example, I will wear it on a home day around family first and see what remarks I get.

Will you leave the house without make up?
Absolutely yes! I think every girl should be able to do this.

How many high end products do you have?
Not many, five tops.

How often do you wash your make up brushes?
If I've used them on somebody other than myself then straight after use but otherwise just until they are noticeably dirty - oops.

Do you plan your OOTD every night or decide when you're getting up?
I usually plan something in my head the night before, if I'm just staying home all day then I'll throw anything from my wardrobe on though.

How often do you change your handbag?
Not often at all, I have one bag that I use at all times.

What time do you get up & go to sleep?
I have no set time, it really is different every day. On a typical college night though I go to sleep around 10pm and get up at 7am. Weekends it 12ish and I get up at 10am - 9am if I have plans.

How often and when do you work out?
Not as much as I should, that's for sure.

Left handed or right handed?
Right handed. I even hold my fork in my right hand which people seem to think is strange.

How tall are you?
Just less than six foot.

Do you speak a foreign language?
Not fluently but I have previously learnt some French, German and a little Manx.

How many pets do you have?
I live on a farm so far too many to count, but roughly nine dogs, three cats, three horses (that are purely mine, fourteen altogether at my house), lots of chickens, sheep, a goat.

How often are you on Blogger?
Every single day.

Do you read the comments on your posts?
Every one and I reply too. I don't get many comments so when I do it makes my day!

Do you keep a list of products to try as you read other blogs?
Indeed I do and right now it is SO long.

How did you come up with your blog name?
I can't remember how exactly I thought of it but I'm clumsy and I like beauty so that's where it came from really.

What kind of camera do you use for your photographs?
Despite having a pretty good Nikon camera, I use my iPhone 5 mostly.

How often do you clean your house? (daily, weekly, other)
I'm not sure how this fits in with being a beauty blogger but I tidy my bedroom weekly. I don't have a house of my own, I live with my parents so that one is a joint effort.

What is your favourite colour?
Usually I'd say purple but I'm leaning more towards plain old white these days.

What is your favourite beauty/fashion magazine?
I don't read any really, just COMPANY.

Do you swear?
I don't say the really bad words and I don't do it regularly but yes, I swear.

What are you doing with the rest of your day?
Writing blog posts because I am falling so behind.

If you'd like to give this tag a go then please do and leave the link in the comments. I'd like to tag Alice, Sarah and Zoe.

Bamboo Hair Trio

A while ago now I was doing some work experience in a salon when one of the stylists came up to me with a pile of samples. All of the treatments she gave me were anti-frizz so I think it was a hint that my hair is in a bad way, I'm sorry if I upset hair dressers everywhere.

Anyway I went home and gave the Bamboo Smooth Anti-Frizz trio a try. The set includes a a shampoo, conditioner and kendi oil. I'm yet to do more research into the oil.

My first impressions were that the smell is gorgeous. I'm a sucker for scents! The shampoo feels so lovely and luxurious, something you would get when receiving a professional treatment - I assume, as I've not experienced this before. The conditioner is thick and creamy and I really like that it didn't leave my hair feeling like straw.

The 'instantly absorbing Kendi Oil with strengthening eco-certified bamboo banishes frizz, imparts intense shine & protects colour while providing vital nutrients.' It is said to be best for medium to thick hair types. Well yes, that's me. I enjoyed using this oil and along with the shampoo/conditioner, my hair was left feeling better than ever for a good couple of days.

I'm considering buying the full sizes of these products but I think I'll do one more sample wash first, just to be sure that I wont be disappointed.

Shampoo, £12.23, BeautyBay | Conditioner, £12.23, BeautyBay | Oil, £14.42, BeautyBay

Do you have a favourite hair care product?

Summer Essentials Part 1 | Food

Throughout the summer one of my favourite things to do is picnics, so obviously that is going to be the first thing on my list of food based essentials. What goes in the picnic you ask though?

Breakfast bars. Granola bars, Nutrigrain bars, Alphen bars. There are so many delicious and healthy breakfast bars out there that I think are perfect for on the go. This month you really don't need a bowl of hot porridge to get you going!

Summer fruits. Who doesn't love snacking on strawberries, raspberries and blueberries? I also really love grapes and nectarines at this time of year especially. I also love to whip up some yummy smoothies. (READ: Smoothie Sunday)

Water. It is so important to stay hydrated in the warmer months, even in the UK where our weather isn't almost great. Water, water, water.

Crisps. I know that crisps are an all year round food but I think they are pretty great for summer and throwing in a picnic basket or your handbag. Crisp sandwiches are fun too and taste great, or is that just me?

Ice cream. Uh duh! I really don't think this one needs any explanation what so ever.

Salad. The most boring one til last, but I really do like a good salad in the summer. I eat them more so if I'm going out though because it tastes so much better when you didn't make it yourself. A couple of my favourites are a chicken salad or a ploughmans.

What's your staple summer food?

Confession Time | I Owe You

Look who promised daily posts in August and hasn't blogged in five days. This is the first time I've had time to get to a computer in four whole days due to other commitments which involved some very early mornings and late nights - neither of which I enjoy! Yes, I should have scheduled posts but I just didn't get round to it. I'm sorry!

To make it up to you all though I'm going to be posting TWICE a day over the next couple of days, so you're not missing out on anything. I look forward to getting back into my normal routine as of tomorrow. In the mean time, here are some snap shots into what I've been up to:

A Liebster Award.. Or Two!

I was really excited to read a comment the other day from the lovely Arielle at For the Love of Sweeties saying how she's nominated me for a liebster award. I'm not only grateful for the nomination (thank you Arielle) but for discovering her blog which I love and you should all visit - after reading this post - by clicking here. AND THEN, even more recently I got another comment with a second nomination from the gorgeous Alicia of LissyBeauty. So thank you to her also, you can visit her blog here.

I'm pretty sure you all know the rules by know but just in case here is a quick recap:

You must also thank those that nominated you, display the award, explain the rules & leave a comment or tweet letting your nominees know about it. So without further ado, here are my answers to all twenty-two questions. You're in for a long read to get comfy!

Arielle's questions

How long did you think about starting a blog before you actually did?
This is a really good question and I'm not really sure of the answer, maybe a couple of months...

What is your favourite restaurant?
Hmm! We're right in there with the hard to answer questions aren't we? I'm going to say my local, The Waterfall Pub, just because it's the one I visit most often.

Favourite make up brand?
Seriously!! At the moment it's going to have to be Rimmel because I love a lotta lot of their products.

Are you an indoor or an outdoor person?
I think I'm an outdoor person as much as an indoor person; I love the comfort of my bed, my laptop and my movies, I also love the beach and walking and horse riding! Make of that what you will.

How do you wear your hair on a day-to-day basis?
In a big messy bun!

If you had to move, where would you want to live?
If I absolutely had to move I think I'd go to one of three places; Wales, Yorkshire or Brighton.

Would you rather have spaghetti for hair or linguini for legs? This is important.
Well if its so important I guess I better really think about my answer. I'm going to choose spaghetti for hair because that's what all my clay figures had when I was a kid and it wasn't so bad, right? Also I don't even know what linguini is.

What does your perfect day look like?
I have a lazy lie in until about 10am, then I have a shower and eat strawberries and granola on a balcony somewhere hot. I'm wearing a flowy dress and flip flops and I'm heading to the beach with all my friends. We're there all day just lazing around, swimming and having a BBQ. Early evening I get changed and go for a long ride on my horse, and then spend the night in a hot tub drinking and chatting. My family all fit in there some way or another and yeah, cheesy as that is I think it sounds great!

What is your favourite go to midnight snack?
I've never had a midnight snack, believe it or not. I think it'd toffee pop corn though, god knows why!

Who or what inspires your personal style?
I'm not so much inspired by something or someone as I just wear whatever looks nice in a shop or catalogue. I really admire Louise's (SprinkleofGlitter) style and confidence though, and also my friends have pretty good taste.

Is there anything you consider youself a master at cooking, or making in the kitchen?
I'm pretty great at chocolate chip cookies, cake and I make the best flapjacks you'll ever taste!  Also tuna napolitana, I'm good at making that.

Alicia's questions

If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you live?
This is similar to an earlier question I think. The truth is I would continue living where I do know but if the Isle of Man sunk or something, see above answers! I'm a pretty boring sixteen year old.

Best memory?
I hate these sorts of questions. I just don't have an answer!

Favourite album or song?
At the moment it is between 'Stay with me' & 'Me and my broken heart'. I also like the new collaboration from Jessie J (one of my favourite ever people), Nicki Minaj and Ariane Grande.

Dream job?
Working for Benefit! Or a YouTuber - but everyone wants that job. OMG I could be a Benebabe that makes YouTube videos for Benefit and make up would be everywhere and I'd be living the dream. Ahhh. *cough* HIRE ME PLEASE *cough*

Favourite make up look?
Flawless skin, well contoured with dewy cheeks.  Gorgeous defined brows with a pink/brown nude lip and goldy/brown smoky eye and a lotta mascara.

Ultimate pet peeve?
I don't know if this is a thing that counts but when people click there knuckles. Or any bone. I HATE IT.

Who are your top three celeb crushes?
You can't put me on the spot like this. It's 10.24pm and this post has to be up at 8am. Ermmm, Nico Mirallegro, Justin Timberlake and Ansel Elgort??? I don't even know!

Waterproof mascara - yay or nay?
Yay if you're in water I guess but for me personally, nay.

Favourite lip colour to wear?
Lipstick wise my daily go-to is the Beauty Benefit's Wet'n'Wild Silk Effect in shade 40 but recently I have been loving Tanya Burr's lip gloss in Chic.

Matte or dewy foundation?
Dewy for sure.

Skincare holy grail items?
Neutragina Pink Grapefruit daily face wash, No7 Soft and Gentle Cleanser, Boots Botanics Rose Water Toning Spritz,  Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturising Gel.
